When the mind is feeling stressed or dull, following might help:
1. Sit in silence - Spend few moments sitting calmly in a spiritual environment, if possible. Prayer, healing music etc. help settling down of excess emotions.
2. Face the issue - Allow thoughts of the incident and focus on the problem, for a while, when ready for it. If there are memories, let them flow and observe with awareness, as possible. See the events flash by the mind, check your feelings and release them.
In a few cases, another step for example: forgiving yourself or another person at thought level, might help more.
3. Write the concerns - Use journaling to analyze thoughts and reflect on what, why etc. of the matter. Try to understand deeper issues or needs of your mindset.
This can potentially help to eradicate the problem from root cause, over time.
4. Accept the current situation - Affirm verbally- 'I accept', a few times.
Find all that is good and supporting you, at present. Acknowledge each of these, with gratefulness.
5. Do self care - Home remedies and natural therapies really help. They can aid in removing toxins, cleanse system, regulating blood & energy flows etc.
Choose what might suit you, best.
6. Get fresh energy - Spend time in nature, work with plants, play with kids or help others etc.
The body-mind system may be drained with stagnant energy. This need to get released and replaced with pure energy from the environment or other living beings. With repetition, it can help magically, over time.
7. Relax your mind - Do less stressful tasks like household chores, pursue your favorite hobbies e.g. music, travelling, arts, spend time with friends or supporters.
Avoid excess browsing & binge watching on social media, tv etc.
8. Enhance blood/energy circulation - Physical activity moves any blocked or dull energy.
Sports, cardio activity, dance, yoga, 'pranayama' (breathing exercises), walk etc. can be adopted as part of daily routine. These have good ability to distribute energy instantly and can be quite helpful, if continued regularly.
9. Be mindful about diet - Fresh, natural juices or healthy liquids, fruits/salads, light & homely meals help almost everyone, generally. Taking care of choosing what seems simple & best, might work great for mental-emotional wellbeing.
Avoid food from restaurant, junk, stale or heavy to digest etc. especially when tense/depressed.
10. Deep, timely sleep - Proper sleep is one of the most important factors for healthcare. Lack in this might become detrimental to mind's fitness, when compromised, for long.
Make your sleep better, in all possible ways.
