Winters is a good time for an additional rigorous exercise regime as well. Few types of physical exercises are listed below:

a. Yoga practice

b. Aerobics or physical exercise movements

c. Dance movements (of any form) - Dance techniques may bring different benefits, depending on the choice , pace and way of practice etc. For e.g. Indian classical might develop posture & grace while a fast beat western dance may bring energy and activeness

d. Sports & physical activities: Sports are always a great choice, as the exercise happens while you just play. Any outdoor activity like cycling or gardening help to get sunlight & fresh air as well, hence highly recommended.

e. Pranayama or breathing exercises:- These are always good for mental, emotional and physical wellness.

Examples of a few heat generating pranayama are

  • 'Kapal bhati' (Skull Shining breath)
  • 'Bhastrika' (Bellows breath)
  • 'Agnisar kriya' (activating digestive fire) etc.

Keep yourself healthy and active this winter, with good self-care and a warm smile.
