'Ayurveda recommends eating sweet tasting food, first'
Sweet is the food of brain and nervous system.
It is also the preferred food of Stomach.
glucose is suggested to be given, at a priority.
The readily usable energy of sweet food, makes the brain and stomach ready for digestion.
That's why after eating sweet, one feels like eating more.
This is also good reason, why sweets must not be eaten towards the end of meal.
'There is always extra space for desserts', as some would say and that's what happens.
After eating sweet when already stomach-full, one ends up eating extra.
Hence, try to shift the priority, eat sweet as first thing in the morning or first from your meal plate.
Observe, the difference over few weeks.
This idea was first learnt from session of Ayurvedic physician, 'Shri Manan Gandhi' and subsequently, from 'Acharya Mehulkumar' ji.
After trying , it was actually found to work better for digestion.
