One tip: Eating early dinner and only fruits between 7 pm and 8 am , if hungry can help in weight loss over time and gain other health benefits too.

Another important practice is not to eat anything unless hunger is felt.  Generally,  most people tend to eat a sweet,  have some tea,  biscuits or chocolate,  ice cream etc.  some time after the meal. This is just for fun  or social kind of eat,  when they are almost full.  Anyone looking for weight loss or good digestion must avoid this habit. In between meals or when slightly hungry,  consuming fruits, fresh  fruit juice (without sugar) , in moderate quantity,  is okay.

Rainy: I lost 12 kilos over a period of 6-8 months. If it's possible try to avoid all milk products. You'll see a natural weight loss plus you won't gain weight.

Madhur: To gain weight, in a healthy way
Grains, pure ghee or unrefined oil, nuts, dry fruits, cow milk & milk products (organic) addition to diet, help. 
You don't eat more but replace lighter version or unplanned, outside, continental food etc. with combination of these. When this replaced meal or snack is continued over a period of few months - health, strength and weight all increase. 
One should also add yoga/pranayama/walk/physical work may be few minutes more, for good digestion and metabolism.
